The Andhra Sugars Ltd. is committed to its shareholders. We have uninterruptedly paid dividends on our equity shares since 1954-55 and have issued Bonus Shares to our shareholders in the years 1970,1974,1982,1991 and 1993 in the ratio of 4:5, 3:5, 3:5, 1:1 and 1:1 respectively. In fact, 92.17% of the existing shares are Bonus Shares – Shares the company earned for its shareholders.
We developed at our R&D facility process technologies for our Chlorosulphonic Acid, Aspirin, UDMH and MMH plants and considerably improved upon the process technology of our Acetic Acid – Acetic Anhydride plant.
Our sugar plant is the only one in the country that successfully operates the diffusion process in sugar production, with diffusers that were built and commissioned by us using technology from Desmet of Belgium.
Process technology for the Production of Fuel for India’s space program was developed at our R&D facility based on know-how from ISRO. FUEL produced at our plant was used in India’s first indigenously built multipurpose satellite the INSAT- II A, the PSLV-D2, and the PSLV D3.
Our Social Commitment
The Andhra Sugars Limited is dedicated to the betterment of the rural masses. Health and Education are vital for the improvement of the quality of human life. To achieve this, we have helped build a Medical College at kakinada to produce the Doctors needed for rural healthcare and followed this up with helping in setting up a modern Hospital at Tanuku providing Cardiac, Ophthalmologic, Orthopedic, Obstetric, Gynaecological and Dental Care. We have helped provide education by helping in setting up two schools and a Polytechnic and are helping in setting up a modern Library and a Cultural Centre that will have a 1000 seat Indoor Auditorium and an Outdoor Auditorium.
